During three months, I have seen a lot of small things that always came up one question...
All the litter bins in Riga. Double function.
Working timetable
Where can I park? Wikier wrote about the same in Poland
And now, the riddle (adivinanza). What will you find if you follow the sign???
???

I needed to use the toilet. I was standing in front of two doors; one with the "triangle" symbol, and the other one with the "pyramid" symbol. For a while I was trying to understand which door I should open. Two of the theories I tried with were:
- I compared the symbols with other symbols I know better; a ring with arrow pointing northeast for men (= "pyramid", since the top is pointing up), and a ring with a cross "hanging" from it for women (= "triangle", top pointing down).
-I also thought the symbols could represent the bodies; "pyramid" for women, since women are supposed to have wider hips, and "triangle" for men with wide shoulders.
If I do remember correct, finally I decided to go for my first theory.
And entered the men's toilet.
So, my guess is that the sign on the picture is showing the way to the toilets. Am I right?
Do you know the logic behind these symbols?
Yes, the sign shows the way to the toilet.
As you said, the triangle top pointing up is for women. The triangle top pointing down for men.
I have asked in the office about the logical behind these symbols but there is not correct answer yet. Only a mnemonic rule using the shape of an skirt.
Thanks for participate!
